Srinagar, Jul 22 (KNO): Mirwaiz-e- Kashmir, Dr. Molvi Muhammad Umar Farooq, has expressed deep sorrow and grief over the demise of several prominent personalities from downtown Srinagar, whose families have had a long-standing devotion to the Mirwaizeen and a deep association with the historic Jama Masjid Srinagar. In this regard, the Mirwaiz personally visited the bereaved families of the deceased Abdul Qayoom Zargar, son of Muhammad Amin Zargar, resident of Chandapora Jama Masjid, who was also the brother of President of the Jama Masjid Traders Federation Javed Ahmad Zargar, Mirwiaz also visited the residence of Muhammad Sultan Shah, resident of Chandapora whose mother had passed away , he also paid condolences at house of Mr. Riyaz Ahmad Siraj, son of Haji Ghulam Mohiuddin Siraj, resident of Tajgari Mohalla Nowhatta.who brother also passed away According to a statement issued to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), Mirwaiz offered condolences, recited Fatiha, and prayed for the forgiveness of the departed souls, expressing his heartfelt sympathies with the bereaved families and offering them solace. Meanwhile, Mirwaiz also expressed grief at the demise of the founder and administrator of Jamia Darul Uloom Siddiqia Banihal, Maulana Muhammad Yaqub Rabbani. Paying rich tribute to the late scholar, Mirwaiz highlighted his significant religious, educational, and social contributions to the region. Additionally, Mirwaiz expressed sorrow over the demise of another long-time well-wisher of the Mirwaiz family, Mr. Farooq Ahmad Mir of Naribal, Ahamd Akadal.
